Special exhibition introduces with Art Nouveau architecture of Rīga
From 12th August till 2nd September Trading centre „Galerija Centrs” offers exhibition „Art Nouveau architecture of Rīga”. This exposition is the last one in the course of exhibitions ”Galerija Centrs – ambassador of Art and Culture in 2010”. Exhibition is devoted to this very interesting style of architecture and gives possibility through colour photographies to get general impression of houses and to see even small details. We would like to mention that 40% of houses in the centre of Rīga are built in Art Nouveau style – much more than in other cities all over the world. „Galerija Centrs” house itself is one of the historically important buildings in Riga and since 1938 it is Trading centre. In the course of time this shopping place has preserved its special status as social life symbol and is favourite place for inhabitants of Riga and its guests today.
Riga Tourism Coordination and Information Center has launched the first Riga guide Register where you can find information about Riga guides and excursion routes offered by them ( http://www.rigaguides.lv/en/).
The first 25 Riga guides are included in the Register now. The qualification of guides has been tested and they have received official identification cards "Riga guide".
